This is not Murphy's x-ray. This kid in the picture actually fractured two bones. Murphy fractured the top of his foot somehow (one bone, like a crack), and with his swollen foot he managed to jump on the couch and run around, with barely a whimper. I freaked and Shene drove Murphy and me to the ER. Turns out, he must have landed wrong or dropped something on it. Even with a PCA and his parents and uncle and brother and sister in the house, no one had a clue, till Shene gave him his nightly bath and he whimpered a little when she scrubbed the bottoms of his feet. But if you tell him to pee in the toilet, he'll cry and swear for half an hour. Confusing little sweetie. I'm just glad he's not FREAKING out. Maybe tomorrow he will, when he wakes up with a splint. If he gets even half way close to unwrapping it, I'm demanding a cast. I can't keep bandaids on him, I have no idea how he will react to a splint and bindings. Poor sweetheart.

Daddy's been taking care of him this morning while I slept off my fatigue and anxious mommy worry. Ben put his sock on Murphy's big ole splint and 4 fat ace bandages and underdressings. He's got a ton of height on that side that is not compensated by his other bare foot.
POOR POOR MURPHY...I started crying when I saw your post on facebook. Hows he doing?? hes probably just fine, but it makes me so sad. I wanna see that splint! (you know me and kids in casts)

my camera will not work lately. I will try to get shene to bring her camera and show it. It's really just a hard thing that formed to the bottom of his foot and back of his calf (put on wet). Then wrapped with 4 ace bandages and topped off with one of Ben's socks (taught). And you know how big ben's feet are. the ankle part goes up the back and it fits him like a knee sock. but we have to use it so he has more crap to get through, so he can't just get it off easily. plus he walks on it and the other foot has a regular school skate shoe. Very noticible to all: big white sock foot little brown shoe foot. And we have to put pants that allow the fat thing through the hole in the leg.
