miyo has an excuse for everything

Miyo pooped a little bit in her Hello Kitty underwear before coming to me and telling me she had to go. I put her on the toilet and she was very upbeat, saying, "You are happy I poop on toilet!" I told her that I wasn't happy, because she pooped a little in her pants first. To which she sadly looked down and said, "I was having a hard time."

my whole neighborhood smells wonderful

We have an excess of floral trees in our neighborhood. I clipped the Lilac from a tree in our backyard. I also clipped some of the neighbor's tree limbs that were hanging into our yard to put in a vase. I hope they don't mind. They were just too pretty to resist. Our kitchen and dining room smell so incredibly good!

Shene and I painted the dining room. It used to be red, but we painted the little alcove (is that the right word?) a brown color called 'Bear Rug'. And the rest of the room is 'Tibetan Orange'. I love it. I am hoping to convince Lisa to let me paint the cabinets the 'Bear Rug' color. It will be so beautiful, compared to the ugly crap cupboard color currently residing in the kitchen.

composting

I am so excited about my new composter. It will take me a year to actually make "black gold", but I have to start somewhere. I love throwing crap in it. Not literal crap. Egg shells, avocado pits and skins, banana peels, apple cores, coffee grounds... I even put in the kids' hair clippings.

my favorite chore

There is nothing like the clean smell of laundry hung on the line. Yes, jeans and towels get crispy, but I put them on anyway. I love watching them flap in the wind. I love hanging them up. I love taking them down. I don't mind folding, but I dislike putting them away. Go figure.

potty time rules
